Terms of Service
Last Updated: 2/24/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Alab website and any related services, and (where applicable) the purchase of products. They apply to consumers and business customers, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
By accessing, browsing, or using our website, or by placing an order, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Alab provides professional electronics development, smart home solutions, and related products and services, including but not limited to:
- Design, development, and sale of electronic devices and smart home products
- Consulting, commissioning, and integration services for automation systems (e.g., KNX, DALI)
- Software and firmware updates associated with our products
- Customer support and after-sales services
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. Orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Prices are shown during checkout and may include applicable taxes depending on your location and status.
- We may refuse or cancel an order (for example: suspected fraud, stock errors, or pricing mistakes). If we cancel after payment, we will refund you.
- You are responsible for ensuring your shipping and billing information is accurate.
- Payment is processed through our payment providers. We do not store full payment card details.
We aim to dispatch and deliver orders within the estimated times shown at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays or circumstances outside our control.
- Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the address provided, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
- If delivery fails due to incorrect information or non-collection, additional shipping/handling costs may apply.
- For international deliveries, you may be responsible for import duties/taxes imposed by the destination country (where applicable).
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days from delivery, without giving any reason, subject to statutory exceptions (e.g., clearly personalised or made-to-order items).
- To exercise withdrawal, you must notify us within 14 days and return the goods in accordance with the instructions we provide.
- Return shipping costs: where permitted by law, the direct cost of returning the goods is borne by the customer, provided we informed you of this obligation before purchase.
- Refunds: if withdrawal applies, we will refund the purchase price and the standard outbound delivery cost (if charged) after receiving the goods back or proof of return, using the same payment method unless agreed otherwise.
- Products must be returned in a condition suitable for resale (unless you only handled them as necessary to inspect them). Deductions may apply for diminished value where allowed by law.
Your rights under applicable consumer law remain unaffected. In Spain, consumer goods are covered by a mandatory legal guarantee. We also offer a commercial warranty for certain products, which is in addition to your statutory rights.
- Consumers (Spain/EU): statutory legal guarantee applies (e.g., 3 years in Spain for consumer goods sold from 1 January 2022, subject to applicable conditions).
- Business customers (B2B): unless otherwise agreed in writing, we provide a commercial warranty of 1 year from delivery for manufacturing defects under normal use.
- Warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, unauthorised modifications, incorrect installation, or damage caused by third-party equipment.
- To request warranty service, contact us with your order number and a description of the issue. We may repair, replace, or refund as required by law.
Our products may include embedded firmware or software that is necessary for the proper functioning of the physical device. This software is not sold separately and does not constitute standalone digital content.
- Embedded firmware is provided as an integral part of the physical product and is licensed for use solely with that product.
- We may provide firmware updates to improve functionality, security, or compliance, where technically feasible.
- Firmware updates do not affect your statutory consumer rights regarding the physical product.
- You may not reverse engineer, extract, or redistribute embedded firmware except where such rights are expressly granted by mandatory law.
For returns, repairs, or warranty service that require product inspection or handling by us or our agents, the following procedure applies:
- Before returning any product, you must request an RMA (Return Material Authorization) by contacting customer support with proof of purchase and a detailed description of the issue.
- We will provide you with shipping instructions, including the RMA number that must be clearly marked on the outside of the package.
- Customers are responsible for outbound shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (defective product, wrong item shipped, etc.), where we will provide return shipping labels where permitted by law.
- Once the returned product is received and inspected, we will repair, replace, or refund in accordance with the warranty policy and applicable consumer protection law.
When using our website and services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when required
- Use our website and services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Use products in accordance with provided documentation and applicable safety requirements

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including mandatory consumer rights).
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence in the EU. Courts with jurisdiction will be determined in accordance with applicable law.
